Last spring, motivated by the fear I felt watching my mother’s failing health, I consulted with Stephanie Turner. As hard as it is for me to believe now, when we started working together I was completely sedentary and couldn’t even jog for five minutes without stopping.

Working with Stephanie has changed my life in so many wonderful ways. I have regained a sense of self confidence and focus that I didn’t even realize I had lost. And I feel strong, energized and satisfied. I find extreme joy in reaching new fitness levels and improving upon certain tasks. Even as an adult, one can never underestimate the power of hearing “good job” on a regular basis.

I always look forward to my time with Stephanie, who even on my most self-deprecating days remains positive and patient. I haven’t always trusted myself to stay focused on fitness, but I do now. The cardio calendar that Stephanie creates for me each month is challenging but sane and keeps me on track. In fact, this is the first time in my life I feel completely confident that my mac ‘n cheese binges and months without movement are a thing of the past.

She has such a great sense of humor, which is great when I’m feeling clumsy or a little self-conscious about trying something new! And since every workout is a different, I can see and feel my steady progress, without ever tiring of the routine. In short, even when I’m “supporting my abs”, I’m having a blast!

During the course of my training with Stephanie, I suffered an unrelated injury which required short-term physical therapy. I was so relieved to find her knowledgeable about the injury itself, and was impressed that she took the initiative to create some new exercises to compliment my physical therapy.

My eating habits are another story, and I still have room to improve, but I’m in it for the long haul and am extremely proud of myself and the work Stephanie and I have done together. Incidentally, these days I’m training for the Chicago Distance Classic (half-marathon) and working hard on my cross training.

Of course, there are the statistics. I have lost over 20 pounds and more than 17 inches. Literally, my entire wardrobe has had to be replaced. Some questionable work out gear still remains, but that’ll have to stay. For now, I’m focusing my funds on a new pair of “Ass Pants”!

The commitment I’ve made to myself and my well-being has been worth every penny! There is nothing that can speak to the accomplishment of regaining control of my health and my life, and I couldn’t have done it without the professional expertise of my guide and my friend, Stephanie Turner.

From the bottom of my heart – THANK YOU!
